The Motherlode, 2026

The Motherlode is an immersive moving-image installation that reimagines the domestic sphere as a red-curtained, heterotopian space for considering matrilineal endurance. Situated within an uncanny, Lynchian environment, the work presents a triad of meditative films featuring a Foremother, a Present-Day Woman, and a Future Daughter. Each character is captured in a state of rhythmic, era-specific labor, from Victorian embroidery and contemporary digital scrolling to the weaving of scavenged electrical wires. By layering these slow-burning performances against a tactile soundscape of domestic static, the installation collapses a century of feminine experience into a single, temporal loop. It invites the viewer to consider the quiet whispers of the matrilineal line.
